Do you wake up some days feeling as if you can conquer the world, or maybe a small part of it? And then the day’s hurdles and dramas beat you down until you return home humbled and tired. My days of feeling strong enough to conquer the world may be fewer, but recent events are reigniting my fires.
Where are our great scientists? Social media is banning doctors from their platforms. Heck, even Pulitzer Prize nominees’ voices are deemed dangerous these days.
What about the lack of decent medical care over the past 18 months? Litters of doctors declared they didn’t treat COVID-19, as if they had stumbled upon a medical puzzle with no solution.
And what of hospitals who turned sick people away, giving them no useful advice or therapeutics, saying come back when you’re really sick? A month later, were surviving patients or families of the dead, free to tear up their hospital bill for services not rendered?
What is going on? When discussing genetic manipulation, the great scientist Jerome Lejeune (1926-1994), noted:
“The dawn [of science] is producing good fruits and bad fruits. We are forced to choose. . . [S]cience itself is neither useful nor pernicious, but can become one or the other depending on whether it is used to serve human beings or degrade them.
. . .[T]he real danger lies in human beings, in the increasingly disturbing lack of equilibrium between their power, which is increasing, and their wisdom, which is declining. It is wise to be a good apprentice, and the duty of every scientist, but it is foolish to play the wizard; no one can ever become one. Beyond intelligence there is another law of life that also dominates reason. It is the love of one’s like, defense of the weak, compassion for those who suffer, and unlimited respect even for those who are distant, alien, different, and for those unknown who will survive us on this earth.”
Our government declares they are the only voice in medical science that can be heard or relied upon. Our hospitals are refusing to treat a virus. In fact, even when doctors stand up to the hospital administrators and try to provide treatment, the treatments are blocked. Inexpensive medicines are prohibited. https://trialsitenews.com/court-battles-rage-to-save-lives-attorney-put-hospital-chief-in-jail/
With each passing year do you notice your ability to speak, think and even reason are becoming enslaved in the one-voice demands of government and its witting accomplices?
Science and medicine require discussion, collaboration, following hypothesis. They are evolving fields requiring many voices. When faced with a new problem, don’t you seek others’ opinions?
Now’s the time to pay attention. Never trust nodding heads in unison. Start asking questions! Let’s all insist on more wisdom and less power!
Notes:
My apologies to all the wonderful medical professionals who have fought hard and put their own lives at risk in treating patients. You are true heroes. Each of us is indebted to you!
